Mary Magdalene and The Light Within: A Contemplative Guide to Spiritual Strength in Trying Times
Next Workshop: Spring 2018 in Sonoma County
Mary Magdalene is considered the founding apostle of France, and is the root of the European Christian contemplative tradition, a tradition that continues to thrive in monastic communities in Provence and Burgundy . In this one-day workshop, we will explore some of the many stories of Mary Magdalene as teacher and spiritual leader through art, music, and literature. We will explore The Gospel of Mary, an early Christian text rediscovered and translated in our time that depictsMary Magdalene as a disciple of Jesus's inner circle who realized her full humanity and taught a path of contemplative connection with the divine. Medieval songs, Celtic prayers, art meditation and an closing ceremony will offer tools of reflection for your own contemplative journey.
