Opening Gala - March 4 at 4pm Art Opening Concert and Reception Featuring Braslavsky Ensemble Concert from Paris
You are invited to an extraordinary series of events. From Eve and Mary Magdalene, Hildegard von Bingen to Eleanor of Aquitaine, Joan of Arc, Teresa of Avila, Julian of Norwich, Veronica Franco and Artemisia Gentileschi, a banquet of examples of women throughout history who have embodied wisdom will be brought to life in image, story, poetry and song. Produced by Storyteller and Cultural Historian Kayleen Asbo, Ph.D , this month long extravaganza will be a moving testimony to the power of creativity, resilience, and courage throughout the centuries. “We live in a time of increasing fear and darkness. It is essential to look to the stories of hope and resilience to give us the courage, like our ancestors, to open to life’s possibilities no matter what its challenges”, Dr. Asbo says, “ The stories you will discover in this month long celebration just might change the way you see the world-- the art and music will surely inspire your own search for wisdom as they touch you with beauty”.
The Petaluma Historical Library and Museum will transformed into a wonderland of beauty during Women’s History Month in this celebration of courageous women of myth and history, including the inspiring stories of real life women and girls around the world who are doing astonishing things right now. Featured artists include Shiloh Sophia McCloud, Paola Gianturco, Rose Wognum Francis, Nancy Castille, Irene Belknap, Sue Ellen Parkinson, Mickey Fernandez, Kristin Acuna, Flora Aube, Bernell Loeb, Meri Furnari, Elizabeth Gibbons, Elaine Chan Scherer, Leslie Curchack, Cecelia Fuentes, Lauren Catalina, Katherine Salassi, Susan Audrey, Sue Hoya Sellars, Susan Stewart, Lynea Bernhard, Loretta Farley, Karuna Grace, Alexandra Hart, and Karen Nardi.
