 Forty Days of Dante:

An online program on The Divine Comedy  through Art, Music, Story
and Guided Journaling

Begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6, 2019

Dante's Divine Comedy has been called the most beautiful poem ever written- but it is much more than that: it is a brilliant work of imagination that weaves together Greek and Roman myth, European history and a pathway of  universal spiritual development with deep cross cultural resonances. Written during the "dark woods" of Dante's midlife, amid a series of catastrophes, it is an epic achievement that saved the author's own life- and can immeasurably enrich our own. In this forty day online series, you will  be guided through the Comedy as a fascinating journey of the soul through art, poetry, music  and myth. Each week you will receive a  video link  that will feature Kayleen's lectures on the Divine Comedy, plus links to art and music connected with the story and questions for journaling so that you can discover how Dante's story can be a map of the development for your own inner transformation. On Tuesday evenings ( 7 pm PST), you are invited to participate in a one hour live roundtable discussion on the week's themes with Kayleen and participants around the globe.

Dante's Divine Comedy has inspired some of the most famous artworks throughout history, though few viewers actually  realize what they are seeing, . Here are just a few works by the 20th century French sculpture Rodin that we will dive into in our 40 Days of Dante. Like so many other geniuses across the centuries (including Michelangelo, TS Eliot, Franz Liszt and Carl Jung),  Rodin had a lifelong obsession with Dante that ignited his imagination.
