Discovering the Wealth Within: An Alchemical Journey Through the Heart of France
with Kayleen Asbo, Ph.D, Philip Jonckheer and Kate Levinson, Ph.D September 16- 23, 2017
What defines true worth? How do we measure the value of our life? How can we see in our most difficult challenges the call for authenticity, transformation and renewal? Where should we search for union and integration? In this one week workshop, we will explore the currents of our lives through the lens of alchemy: a map of science, symbolism and art that has informed the works of history’s greatest minds from Isaac Newton to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart to Carl Jung. The backdrop for our discovery is the Dordogne Valley in France, considered the cradle of Western European Civilization- an area of stunning beauty and rich history, replete with Neolithic cave paintings, troubadour castles, charming villages, magnificent cuisine and exquisite natural charm. Our base of exploration will be Beynac-et-Cazenac, named “the most beautiful village in all of France”
Our week will include daily lectures by Dr. Kayleen Asbo on the tradition of Alchemy, excursions to sites of historic and artistic importance, evening gatherings of music and poetry, Along the way, we will bask in a gentle kayak river ride; gape in wonder at the astonishing cave paintings of the region; delight in Chateau Beynac, home of Richard the LionHearted; walk the ancient steps leading to the Medieval pilgrim site of Rocamadour; savor Sarlat's festive farmer's marker, and luxuriate in a candlelit dinner in the enchanting garden of a Michelin starred restaurant. Our home for this magical week will be a magnificent and gracious mansion with gardens and a 27 foot long swimming pool with stunning views of the Dordogne river, with music salon, living rooms and kitchen areas to share. Each participant will stay in a spacious double room with a private bath .
