ENCHANTING AUSTRIA: Where Music, Art and Psyche Meet

June 12-18: Beethoven and Klimt in Vienna June 18-26: In the Footsteps of Mozart and Schubert
Available either as one holiday of 12 days, or two separate six-day holiday, "Enchanting Austria" will take us to some of the most fairytale like places in all of of Europe in a magical cultural adventure. Starting in Vienna, we will explore one of the greatest cultural crossroads of art and music in Europe from the 18th- 20th century. We will visit important locations where the great composers lived and worked, including the homes of Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart and Schubert, take a bus tour of the city and a boat cruise up the Danube where we will visit the glorious Melk Abbey, attend a Mass sung by the Vienna Boys' Choir at the Imperial Chapel. We will drink in Gustav Klimt's stunning paintings at Schönbrunn Palace and the magnificent Belvedere where we will see the extensive Klimt collection, including the world's most famous "Kiss". and we will visit the revolutionary Secession House, where Klimt painted the Beethovenfrieze as an homage to the Ninth Symphony.
For those continuing with us for Part 2, we will explore Lake Attersee (Klimt's summer home) en route to Salzburg, Mozart's birthplace also famous as the home of the Von Trapp Family Singers. During our days in this beguiling small city surrounded by breathtaking castle-crowned mountains, we will visit the Mozart Family Home, take a Sound of Music tour, and enjoy dinner at the famous St Peter Stiftskeller and up at the Fortress overlooking the city. After Salzburg, we travel on to Schwarzenberg. This glorious alpine village hosts a celebrated annual Schubertiade attracting some of the leading artists from around the world. Woven in with concerts at the Schubertiade, we will take walks to marvel at the awe inspiring scenery of Lindau and Bregenz, Lake Constance- sites that have awakened the artistic imagination of countless generations of composers and musicians. We will be attending two concerts by some of the finest performers in the world, which will include some of Schubert's most beloved works.

Tour price for Part One includes: Accommodation for six nights in Vienna at the four star Le Meridian Hotel, breakfast daily, three dinners, two music recitals of piano and chamber music recitals, private tours of the Mozart House in Vienna, the Burgtheater, walking tour and bus tour in Vienna visits to the Schubert Birth House and Heiligenstadt in Vienna and to Melk Abbey and all museum tickets. Coach transportation throughout, all tips for guides and coach driver, and the services of Stephen Carpenter and Kayleen Asbo as tour managers are also included.
For the Full Enchanted Austria Tour, the price includes all the above plus three nights accommodation in Salzburg and three nights in Dornbirn (near Schwarzenberg), breakfast daily, three dinners in Salzburg and three in Schwarzenberg, private tours of the Mozart House in Salzburg, Sound of Music tour in Salzburg. In Schwarzenberg, concert tickets (best seats) and concert programs are included, plus the visit to Lindau, boat trip across Lake Constance, and cable car ride in Dornbirn. Coach transportation throughout, all tips for guides and coach driver, and the services of Stephen Carpenter and Kayleen Asbo as tour managers.
Excluded is your travel to and from Austria, trip insurance, most lunches (except on 23 June in Schwarzenberg) and drinks with meals.
