Fairytale Friday: The Handless Maiden Friday, August 24 at Point Reyes 10:30 am- 3 pm $65.00
A timeless tale of finding your way to healing and hope through loss and miscommunication
Join mythologist Kayleen Asbo as we venture into the woods for a hike, picnic lunch and story that will illuminate our own inner journeys. We gather at Bear Valley Trail at Point Reyes National Park. After an opening circle of introductions, music and Part I of The Handless Maiden, we will hike for about 90 minutes in silence—time enough to reflect on questions that will draw out the hidden depths of this timeless tale. Upon arrival at Divide Meadow, we will then share our reflections over a picnic. After Part 2 of the tale, we hike back, unpacking with a partner the personal meaning the story holds for each of us. Upon our return to the trailhead, we will share a final communion of cookies and song before departure Our hike: An easy flat hike with dappled shade along a creek to a beautiful grassy meadow, about 75 minutes each way
